Herb-Infused Coconut Salve

Healing Salve

Aching muscles, joints, and skin sensitivities can benefit from this healthy salve, which you can affordably make at home. This recipe starts with a coconut oil infusion (see my previous recipe HERE). I have found that the salve works better when a loved one applies it to your aches while you’re eating dark chocolate, but don’t forget to return the favor!

Ingredients:
2 cups herb infused coconut oil
1/3 cup beeswax

Directions:
Setup a double boiler by placing beeswax in a bowl which rests upon a pot filled with 4 inches of water. Turn the heat to high and wait for the water to start boiling and steaming. When the water is boiling, begin to stir the beeswax with a metal spoon or rubber spatula. When the beeswax has melted, add the herb-infused coconut oil to the beeswax and continue stirring until a consistent mixture is achieved. Pour the mixture into a clean jar and store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

NOTE: This salve contains oil, which will stain your clothes if you wear them before it is absorbed. Apply before bed and either avoid wearing clothes or wear clothes that you don’t mind staining.
